When I plugged the modem into the bottom slot, the "Found New Hardware" process kicked in and siad I needed a driver for a PCI Simple Communications Controller. ![]() When I tried to plug the phone line into the modem, I found that the "fat" end of the NIC card was in the way and I needed to swap their slots. Now, I need to use them at the same time - the modem to receive calls, and the NIC card to e-mail them out through the local network. Previously, I had used the Zircom PCMCIA modem and a DLink NIC card with no problems. I have a license for FaxTalk Manager, which I ran on an old Win98 desktop. ![]() ![]() I have an old Dell Latitude laptop (Win2K) that I'd like to use essentially as an answering machine that forwards incoming messages by e-mail. I'm a long-time reader, first-time questioner.
